Government
Evil, manipulating, greedy, corrupt, lying, 2-faced, & self-centered. THAT is what our 'government' is, in a nutshell. The basic idea that was hammered out in the form of our Constitution was good.. that is, until generations of corrupt politicians started wiping their asses with it.
Here's a hint: Social Security, a government scheme to forcefully drain more money from us. Whether or not we like it, the politicians have decided that we don't have the right to our entire income & regularly steal 15% from our checks before they're even printed. Now if you or I were to do this.. the government would have it's well-armed & non-thinking sheep all over us. You'd be operating a Ponzi scheme -- named after Charles Ponzi, who set up a similar plan in Boston in 1920. He promised to pay investors 50% profit on their money in just 45 days. Gullible people poured money into his plan. But he couldn't possibly earn enough on the money to equal the rate of return he promised. So when someone wanted to withdraw his principal and   interest, Ponzi simply paid him from money received from new investors. Eventually he couldn't meet the demands for repayment, and his scheme collapsed. He ended up in jail.
But another such scheme was started in 1935, and this one is still going..  it's called Social Security. It's also a Ponzi scheme.
What's the difference? Easy.. the government won't shut down their illegal operation because it rakes in so much cash. Hell, anything that makes money for good ol' Uncle Sam HAS to be legal, right?
Another point: we aren't really allowed to defend ourselves. Oh sure, the constitution grants us the inalienable right to "Keep & bear arms". But hell, since when does the constitution interfere with government's plans? By definition, law-breakers don't obey laws. Hardened criminals do whatever is necessary to evade identification and arrest. So they don't buy guns that can
be traced; they buy them in the underworld or simply steal them. Thus the gun-control laws don't apply to criminals or stop gun violence. They simply make it much harder for innocent people to defend themselves -- encouraging criminals to take advantage of us. In other words, gun-control laws make the world safer for criminals and government, less safe for us. But hey! If we're all unarmed, then it's just that much easier to send in cops, ATF, FBI, or whatever other sheep the government wants to invade our homes in an illegal search & siezure, under whatever justification is dreamt up. Yeah, gun control laws are merely excuses the government has to disarm & force us into submission. Here's some examples:

- Waiting periods: A waiting period means that a woman being stalked will have to remain defenseless for a few extra days.
Will her stalker refrain from assaulting her until the waiting period is over?
- Safety locks: Although safety locks might prevent a child from accidentally firing a gun, they also can slow you down when
you need a gun in a hurry to defend yourself. Imagine a woman attacked by a rapist in a parking lot. Will she be grateful for
the time it takes to unlock her gun? And, of course, if her adversary is carrying a gun, you can be damn sure it won't have a
  safety lock.
- Registration of handguns: What would this achieve? Nothing positive. Evil-doers won't register their guns; only law-abiding
citizens will. And once your gun is registered, eventually the government will use that registration to confiscate our only
means of defense against armed criminals.
- Licensing of guns or gun-owners: Since criminals won't acquire them, gun licenses won't help find the perpetrator of a violent
crime. They are simply another gratuitous invasion of our privacy.
- Background checks for purchasers: No one wanted by law-enforcement agencies is going to buy a gun in a way that requires
a background check. He'll get his gun from another criminal or steal it. So the only achievement of a background check is
an excuse to collect information on us all.
- Require guns to be locked up: If the law requires guns to be kept out of reach of children, how will the law be enforced? Will
the police invade our houses periodically to verify that our guns are in safe places? It's very likely, but if not, what's the point
of the law? If yes, this is yet another gratuitous invasion of our privacy.
Basically, disarmed citizens encourage crime and violence. Isn't it wonderful that our government wants us to be victims?

Oh, and have ya ever noticed how those who want to be free from the tyrannical rule of the government always seem to wind up dead? If a faction of people were to claim the land that they already own, as independant from the government, & be free from it's evils, the response is: "Well hell.. those people over there want to be free.. we can't allow that!". 30 minutes later, the FBI, NSA, & ATF are at the scene, firing artillery into the freedom seekers. All the while the media is fed horror stories of child abuse, conspiracies, & whatever other line is thought up in order to justify it. Even when the government does this, should anyone retaliate.. God help them. The retaliation is then called "an unprovoked act of terrorism". Yeah... right. The Oklahoma City federal building was a response to Waco, but OOH! THEY'RE the badguys. Good ol' Uncle Sam would never harm any good people right? "Them Waco bastards had it coming! They didn't shell out their extortion or submit!"
Unless we're good little sheep who watch TV, and work to pay the government extortion, we're deemed "unfit" to live, and are either re-brainwashed, or exterminated. Paging Mr. Orwell.

Okay look here:

Land taxed
House taxed
Food taxed
Gas/fuel taxed
Getting married licensed
Driving licensed
Fishing licensed
Hunting licensed
Owning a gun Restricted, taxed, & licensed
Buying ANYTHING taxed & "regulated"
Traveling someplace tolls
Public speaking fees, permit, & monitoring

See a pattern here? In such a "free" country, it seems damn odd that we can't go anywhere, do anything, or own anything without paying in to the government. And as for 'free' well.. maybe this country was free at one time, but every year, more & more of our "freedom" is removed with more & more laws.. regardless if the constitution guarantees us those freedoms or not. And those who don't succumb to these laws are gunned down by law enforcement. So basically we are imprisoned from birth into this mentally controlled hell, with no chance of escape.
And as the government sits and puts on a face of a big, benevolent, loving, caring, servant of the people, they take the money they've extorted from us & build weapons, wage wars, murder, conspire, lie, cheat, steal, and tell us that it's for our own good. Yet if WE were to go do anything like what the government does, again, we're gunned down & made up to look like the badguys, so that they can continue in their evils with no competition, and no real chance of anyone learning of the truth.
All in all, we no longer have the right to do anything.. Sam has taken the Bill of Rights, wiped his ass with it, and laughed at us. We either roll over in submission & give up everything we hold dear, or we're systematically & methodically disposed of. I just wish more people would wake up & smell the bullshit.
